Learn every day. And in all places: in our daily routine, with our
team, with partners, clients, friends, etc, with books, etc. A
continuous learning is a must to the company’s and your development.
Leadership. Learn how to lead a team focused on execution. Learn how
to find the right track. Learn how to fix a wrong path. Admit your
mistakes. Learn with them. Teach as much as you can. Lead by example.
Humanize management. Celebrate, provide real time-feed back, be
sympathetic, etc. Managing a company is managing people: who like what
they do, who like to be nicely treated, who like to interact, etc.
Mentality
Think about the company. Not only your area. Execute your work but get
involved in other departments, learn how they work, make suggestions,
etc. We’re all in the same boat. Know where it’s going and how to
sail it.
Improve everything as much you can. Think how to improve our products
and processes everyday. Take notes from your ideas, talk to people
with whom you work and execute these improvements. In other places
this is called "kaizen" or, if you wish, continuous improvement.
Think big, execute small. Flirt with the unthinkable but do not forget
to deliver your daily stuff. Decide what is best and do it. You’re
here for it. Be careful to don’t wait for your decisions. If you make
a mistake, take responsibility and fix it as fast as you can. We must
take a step ahead every day.
Communicate. Straightly, transparently and politely. Keep open
conversations with people. Make suggestions, complaints, share your
anguishes, mistakes, achievements, etc. Avoid intermediates. Go
directly to the people you would like to talk – without considering
the area, hierarchy, etc. Sincerity is crucial.
Share the profits. We keep an aggressive remuneration policy. We want
our people to think and be compensated as owners. Required results
and share the profits.
Routine
Passion or nothing. We work on passionly way on a company we are passionate about. For us there is not work without passion.
Ethics is not negotiable. We make no exceptions about what’s best for the world and for us. There are no shortcuts to become a great company. A small ethical mistake it’s a huge mistake. We will be a wealth company if we act in a wealth world.
Live the reality. No report better illustrates the reality than the reality itself. Put your feet on the mud and hands in the polish to fix them. Reality is unique.
Make it simple. Find ordinary solutions to complex problems. Complex solutions take time, are difficult, expensive and open room for more mistakes. For almost every complex situation there is a simple solution. Find it.
Control costs. We work hard to sell our properties but it is impossible to forecast exactly the revenues. Costs are the only variable we may totally control and thus we can’t let it escape.
Work the way you want. It doesn't matter how long you stay in the office. Actually, we encourage you to work outside it: in the field, in our stores, construction sites, etc, where things really happen.
Focus on results and on your goals. Result is the bottom-line profit. And your goals is how you can contribute to make it broader. Never forget that no company lives without profit.
We are our client. Always think from their perspective: pricing, products, campaigns, everything. We must really treat them with kindness. Our clients realize fake initiatives to glad them and get delighted with an honest will to help.
